Ignite Lights is a creative education organisation, dedicated to providing quality imaginative, multi-sensory workshops to schools and community groups. Our mission is to inspire the imagination, enabling children of all backgrounds and aptitudes to make progress whilst enjoying themselves. We do this by creating experiences within known, safe spaces, empowering the exploration of artistic expression.

Creator and Lead Practitioner Frances Brinklow is a qualified teacher with a decade of experience working with young people in community, heritage, theatre and school settings. She has written, designed and directed youth theatre showcases in a critically acclaimed producing theatre and formed part of a team winning the Sandford Award for outstanding delivery of creative education in a heritage setting when working in a Tudor/Jacobean historic house. Fran’s passion for literacy has seen her lead writing groups for varied age groups, producing several anthologies and spoken word poetry performances in a wide range of venues. Furthermore, her dedicated work with refugees and children living in poverty on three different continents lends a unique pastoral sense to her arts delivery, with an emphasis on nurture and confidence building, enabling children to shine.

From Key Stage 1 to 3, Ignite Lights provides half and full day workshops as well as longer customised half and full termly projects to suit you. Fran always approaches her work with huge amounts of enthusiasm, energy and above all care. Care for her work, care for her colleagues and care for the young people in her charge. She is organised, professional and creative and inspires and energises those around her.
I really enjoyed Miss B's writing club - I learned how to write lots of different kinds of poems and how to use my imagination to put all my senses into my writing. I looked forward to it every week and it helped me to achieve level 5 at the end of the year.
